ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Architectural Assistant to join us on a short-term basis over the summer. This is an opportunity to contribute directly to a number of small but varied projects that are progressing through planning, technical design, and delivery stages.

The successful applicant will support the day-to-day development of project packages and assist in the production of drawings, presentations, and technical information. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with initiative, attention to detail, and an interest in working with existing buildings.

You will work closely with senior staff and gain exposure to live projects and real-world decision making, in a supportive and collaborative studio environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce 2D drawing packages using AutoCAD for planning, tender and construction stages.
  • Prepare design presentations, reports, and documents using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Organise supporting material and schedules using Microsoft Office.
  • Assist with the development of construction details and technical specifications.
  • Carry out background research and precedent studies to support project development.
  • Attend site visits and assist with surveys where required.
  • Contribute to internal design reviews and coordination meetings.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • RIBA Part 2 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Or RIBA Part 1 qualification (must have workplace experience)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong design sensibility and clear graphic communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Interest in conservation, sustainability, and working with existing buildings.
